Contraflow e-News - December 2015

Dear Friends
Contraflow e-News December 2015 Dear Friends Welcome to our latest E-news - please feel free to circulate this to anyone who may be interested in the work of Contraflow. Praying you all have a Blessed Christmas & a Peaceful New Year

Easyfundraising - Contraflow is registered with this fantastic fund raising site which doesn't cost you a penny! But if you shop on line, a lot of companies are registered and donate a small percentage to your chosen cause www.easyfundraising.org.uk - Helensburgh Area Christian Youth Project - all you do is go to your chosen shop via this website. To date we have raised almost £80, which in the big scheme of things is quite small but this hasn't cost our donors a penny - they have just to go via this website to their favourite on-line stores.

Office Move - we have moved into our New Office in Helensburgh Parish Church, Colquhoun St, Helensburgh, G84 8AD - Thank you to all at HPC for allowing us to have office space.

SU Volunteers - Contraflow is an associated trust with Scripture Union, this means all those who volunteer with us are volunteering under Scripture Union's name alongside Contraflow and therefore must comply with their policies and procedures. All volunteers must be accredited by Scripture Union on a yearly basis, without this I am afraid you cannot volunteer with Contraflow. The same form is required whether you volunteer weekly at an SU group or on a yearly basis at our larger events such as Easter Code. However one form covers you for all volunteer roles you may take on during that year. The update form is shorter and so it is to your own advantage to keep up to date with these forms. The completion of these forms allows you to consider the essentials of your faith and allows you to agree with Scripture Union Scotland's ethos and statement of faith which others will read to see what we are teaching young people.

Prayer for Contraflow- Thursday of 14th January - 7 - 8pm at Bethesda Christian Fellowship (TBC) Join us again for an evening of prayer for Contraflow as we begin 2016. You can come and go as and when suits you and there will be various opportunities to pray for the different work happening within Contraflow.

Volunteers evening - Thursday 4th February from 7pm - 8.30pm in RSR Braeholm - Contraflow could not do the work it does without our pool of volunteers and Helen would like to start 2016 by thanking each of them and have a little gathering to share ideas, thoughts, prayer for the year ahead. Whether you volunteer once a year or four times a week please join us on this evening. On the night, time will be set aside for assisting those who require it with completing the SU accreditation forms, if you cannot make it Helen will be available in the new office to help on the following dates and times - Tuesday 5th & 12th January between 1pm - 6pm and Wednesday 6th & 13th January 5.30pm - 6.30pm in the new Contraflow office.

Easter Code - Wednesday 2nd - Friday 4th March - Volunteers needed for the 6 sessions. Two of our Primary Schools in the town have large numbers this year so please help us ensure we can provide this experience to them.

Website - Please remember to visit our website for more information on the work we do - www.contraflow.org.uk

Bubblegum & Fluff - was held at the week beginning the 23rd November and was attended by 5 of the local primary schools. Thank you to all the volunteers who made this week possible and enthusiastically participated to make the event such a success. Next year we hope to take it back to the peninsula and out to Luss and Arrochar.
